MEET OFF THE CURB’S FOUNDER

LYNNE DESMOND CAGE

As a career coach, I help people find their ideal work. (And, if they don’t know what that is, I help with that too!)

As a leadership coach, I help new and emerging leaders hit their stride and “up” their impact.

There’s nothing I love more than helping people hit their sweet spot; doing meaningful work they love and positively impacting those around them.

chapter ONE

My career story started as a recruiter for an international tech company where my job included reviewing thousands of resumes a week (yes you read that right!) and conducting count-less interviews to find top talent for my rapidly growing company. Working hand-in-hand with hiring managers, you could say I had a front row seat to the qualities and strategies that made certain job-seekers fizzle while others rose from the rest of the pack to land their ideal jobs.

chapter TWO

As the company grew, I headed organizational development and training for the US and Asia, working on key issues such as leadership development, strategic direction, and company culture. I grew fascinated by the impact and influence one single leader could have on shaping his or or organization; from the way they led their teams and defined their strategy to how they created their culture. I especially loved helping new leaders find their voice and make their mark. Following an entrepreneurial inkling, I left to start my own consulting firm working one-on-one as a trusted guide and practical sounding board for leaders and their teams from start-ups to Fortune 500’s helping them drive positive change and translate their visions into reality.

chapter THREE

I often tell my clients that most career stories don’t go exactly as planned. Mine was no exception!

Maybe you can relate. You started in one field and now feel stuck. Or, you’ve stepped into a leadership role that’s more than challenging. Perhaps you’re bored, fried, or just want to call your own shots or your post-pandemic pondering has you rethinking everything including your work.

For me, complications from a serious injury forced me out of the work world completely! Recovery was a challenging, gritty, multi-year process. My career and life plans were completely shattered. When I was finally ready to get back in the career saddle, I realized I was in a unique position to combine my business expertise and lessons learned through personal challenge to support others seeking to change their work life for the better and Off the Curb was born!
